HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-02-1975 51 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 2, 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met' in regular 2 session September 2, 1975 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council 3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. President Mer- 4 chanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. 5 Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Marino,, Mills and Williams. Absent: 6 Mr. Hilton. The following business was had to-wit: 7 8 Councilman Geier moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 9 seconded by Councilman Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion 10 was carried. 11 12 Councilman Geier moved to approve the minutes of the special meeting, 13 seconded by Councilman Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion 14 was carried. 15 16 Councilman Mills presented a petition requesting security lights be 17 installed in the alley between S.W. "A" and West Main and S.W. 7th 18 and S.W. 8th Streets. 19 20 The request will be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety. 21 22 Councilman Marino commended the City Engineer's Department and the 23 Street Department for the fine job of resurfacing N.W. 5th Street. 24 25 Councilman Geier moved for suspension of the rules and read Ordinance 26 No. 3020-1975 on first reading by title only, seconded by Councilman 27 Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 28 29 The Clerk read on first reading by title only Ordinance No. 3020-1975 - 30 AN ORDINANCE TO TRANSFER WITHIN THE PARK AND RECREATION BUDGET THE SUM 31 OF THREE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED AND NINE DOLLARS AND NINETY-TWO CENTS 32 ($3,909.92) FROM "PROPERTIES" (7-72-723) RECREATION EQUIPMENT ($1 ,409.92) 33 AND FROM "CURRENT OBLIGATIONS" (6-64) CONTRIBUTION - PERF ($2,500.00) 34 TO "SUPPLIES" (3-35) RECREATION SUPPLIES ($1 ,409.92) AND TO "SUPPLIES" 35 (3-37-371 ) PARK SUPPLIES ($2,500.00) . 36 37 Councilman Geier moved to suspend the rules and read Ordinance No. 3020- 38 1975 on second reading, seconded by Councilman Elstro and on unanimous 39 voice vote the motion was carried. 40 41 The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 3020-1975. 42 43 Councilman Geier moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 3020-1975, seconded 44 by Councilman Elstro and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 45 46 Councilman Elstro _moved for suspension of the rules and read Ordinance 47 No. 3020-1975 on third reading by title only, seconded by Councilman 48 Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 49 ' 50 The Clerk read on third reading by title only Ordinance No. 3020-1975. 51 52 Ordinance No. 3020-1975 was placed on final passage or rejection and 53 on a call of the roll the following was recorded: Ayes; Brown, Cornett, 54 Elstro, Geier, Marino, Mills , Williams and Merchanthouse. Noes; None. 55 The vote being eight (8) to zero (0) in favor of passage of Ordinance 56 No. 3020-1975. 57 Common Council Minutes September 2, 1975 Page 2 1 Councilman Brown moved for suspension of the rules and read Ordinance No. 2 3021-1975 on first reading by title only, seconded by Councilman Williams 3 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 4 5 The Clerk read on first reading by title only Ordinance No. 3021-1975 - 6 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED, FORTY ONE DOLLARS 7 ($4,241 .00) FROM THE FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND, FOR CERTAIN 8 ORDINARY AND NECESSARY MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING EXPENDITURES AND FOR 9 CERTAIN ORDINARY AND NECESSARY CAPITAL EXPENDITURES AS AUTHORIZED BY THE 10 STATE OF INDIANA AND BY THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA. 11 12 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 13 the meeting was adjourned. 14 15 16 Greg Merchanthouse 17 President 18 19 ATTEST: Margaret Mellen 20 City Clerk
