HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-27-2002 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 27,2002 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Wednesday, November 27, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided, with Robin Henry, Bruce Metzger and City Attorney Bob Bever in attendance. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES There were no minutes for approval. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims from the Finance Department for$172,155.05 and made a motion to accept, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENING A. Goodwin said one bid was received for the HVAC for Fire Station's#2, 3,4, 5, &6 and that was Loman Metal Shop, Eaton, Ohio with various hourly quotes. This will be reviewed and awarded at a later date. CHANGE ORDER A. Change order#1 was for the South "L"Street project with an increase of$20,099.20 and a new total of$181,372.20. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Change order#2 is for the Bridge Avenue relocation with an increase of$2,475.62 and a new total of$162,920.12. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID AWARDS A. Street Commissioner Gordon Moore recommended that Bowlin Construction be awarded the bid for the North 22nd Street project in the amount of$99,833. Moore said that $80,000 will be taken out of this year's budget and the balance out of the 2003 budget. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Goodwin recommended Triple A Roofing for$1,960 for the City Building roof and they will begin work in three weeks with a one-year guarantee on the repair work. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. AGREEMENT A. City Engineer Bob Wiwi requested approval of a Service Agreement with Manpower for temporary work and explained that the office has a need for a data entry person and they have no one in their office that has the time to do that. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Board of Works Minutes Cont'd.
