THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 13,2002
Due to the lack of a quorum, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
postponed its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday, September 12, 2002 to 11 a .m. Friday. September
13, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided,with
Robin Henry in attendance. Bruce Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe were absent. The
following business was conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Henry made a motion to approve the minutes for September 5, 2002, second by Goodwin and the motion
was carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Henry presented claims from the Finance Department for$134,754.21 and made a motion to accept,
second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
REQUESTS
A. Goodwin announced "Beggars Night"will be held on October 31, 2001 from 5 to 7 p.m.
and said he also received confirmation from the Fire Department and Police Department
for that date. Henry moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried
on a voice vote.
ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT
A. Tammy Glenn, Deputy Controller, explained the addendum that is being added to Fall
Creek Associates, an auditing service that is being asked to do additional work for the
City. Henry moved to approve adding it with only the chairperson signing the contract,
second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
OPENING QUALIFICATION FROM ARCHITECTS
A. Qualifications from architects were opened for the Wernle Planning Project from Bonar
Group—Sebree and Associates Architects, Indianapolis; Maze Design Group, Richmond
and Schmidt Associates Inc., Indianapolis. Tony Foster, Grants Administrator, said the
qualifications did not have prices attached as they will be negotiated when the architect is
chosen.
NEXT MEETING DATE
A. Goodwin announced that the next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2002
and following the meeting will be the hearings of two firefighters.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice
vote, the meeting was adjourned.
