THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 3, 2002
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Wednesday, July
3, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building.Vice Chairperson Robin Henry presided with
Bruce Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe in attendance. Chairperson Bob Goodwin was
absent. The following business was conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Metzger made a motion to approve the minutes of June 27, 2002, second by Henry and the motion was
carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
There were no claims for payment.
REQUESTS
A. Captain Don Ponder requested approval of two Handicapped Parking signs: Peggy
Laplante at 2118 North "D"Street and Mark Allan Clark at 77 Northwest"I"Street.
Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
B. Captain Ponder requested approval for Tom Litner of Retro's Cafe'to close the 700 block
of East Main Street on Saturday August 17, 2002 from 1 to 8 p.m. to remember
Woodstock'69. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was
carried on a voice vote.
C. Captain Ponder recommended approval for a request from Melinda Frech of Dunn Center
to close the east half of the 700 block of North Service Drive on Thursday, July 29, 2002
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to host a"Community Blood Drive". Metzger so moved, second by
Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
D. City Engineer Bob Wiwi requested approval for the project to be bid in the Robert Faus
Sub-division that is being developed into a"Habitat for Humanity" project. The project will
be for a new two lane street with curbs and sidewalks, a retention area, new sanitary
sewer and a new storm sewer. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.
CONTRACT APPROVAL
A. Wiwi requested approval for Woolpert LLP Engineering firm to develop a GIS utility
network, not to exceed $55,000. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice
vote, the meeting was adjourned.
