HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-23-2002 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 23,2002 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Thursday, May 23, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry and Bruce Metzger in attendance. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Henry made a motion to approve the minutes for May 16, 2002, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims from the Finance Department in the amounts of$209,651.36 and moved for approval, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. A hearing date was set for the demotion of a Firefighter for June 11th at 9 a.m. in the Community Room of the City Building. B. Goodwin recommended approval for a curb cut at 225 Northwest 7th Street. Metzger moved to approve subject to conditions of Public Works and Engineering, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENING A. The following bids were opened for Contractual Concrete 2002: Bowlin Construction Losantville, IN.for$473,158; L.J. DeWeese, Tipp City, Ohio, $452,557 and TdM Construction East, Centerville, Ohio, $397,087.65. These bids will be reviewed and awarded at a later date. BID AWARD A. Goodwin read a letter from Gordon Moore, Street Commissioner recommended that the Tree and Stump Removal bid be awarded to Venable Tree Service in the amount of $28,725. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Goodwin read a letter from Greg Stiens, Assistant City Engineer, recommending the bid be awarded to Patriot Engineering and Environmental, Inc of Indiana, for$5,290 plus an additional $700.00 for surveying services if needed for a site investigation at Fire Station #4. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. AGREEMENT A. Goodwin read a letter from Police Chief Gregory G. Pipes requesting approval of an Agreement with Printrak for the Department's photo imaging for the period of 12/1/02 to 11/30/03. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Board of Works Minutes Cont'd.
