HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-07-2002 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 7, 2002 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Thursday, March 7, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe in attendance. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Henry moved to approve minutes for February 14 and 21, 2002, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Goodwin moved to approve minutes for February 28, 2002, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims for payment from the Finance Department in the amount of$240,954.09 and moved for approval, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Goodwin requested approval of a curb cut at 4090 South"A"Street. Henry moved to approve subject to conditions by Public Works and Engineering, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Goodwin requested approval of a curb cut at 4820 Woodside Drive. Metzger moved to 111 approve subject to conditions by Public Works and Engineering, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID AWARD A. Goodwin read a letter from Purchasing Director Vicki Stevens recommending Greenleaf Lawn Care at$52.00 an hour for the City Mowing Contract. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENINGS A. The following bids were opened for wallpaper at the Street Department Office: Lucinda Interiors of Lynn $1,675.20; Seals Painting Co. of Fountain City$1,230; and Lee's Decorating of Richmond $1,150. These bids will be reviewed and awarded at a later date. B. The following bids were opened for Electrical Outlets in the Police Office: Cummins Electric, $10,200 and Hill Electric, Inc. $4,245. These bids will be reviewed and awarded at a later date. C. The following bids were opened for asphalt at the Police Pistol Range: Barker&Sons $1,654.37 and Mullen Seal and Strip, $1,550. These bids will be reviewed and awarded at a later date. BOW Minutes Cont'd March 7, 2001 Page 2 ADDENDUM TO TRANSIT UNION CONTRACT A. Rabe recommended approval for an addendum to the Transit Union Contract saying that since Roseview Transit received a 4% increase on salaries for 2001, 2002 and 2003 and since the contract reads 3%, the increase needed to be clarified. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. INTRODUCTION OF STUDENTS Several students from a government class at Centerville High School were introduced. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
