THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 14,2002
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. February 14, 2002,
in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry
and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe in attendance. Bruce Metzger was absent. The following
business was conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Henry moved to approve the minutes of February 7, 2002, second by Goodwin and the motion was
carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
There were no claims for payment.
REQUESTS
A. Goodwin recommended approval of a curb cut at 1111 Northwest"T"Street. Henry
moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
B. Fire Chief Mike Allen requested the board accept the retirement of Lieutenants Eugene
Ward and Jerry Cotter. Henry moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion
was carried on a voice vote.
C. Chief Allen requested the board accept the resignation of Firefighter Thomas Hamlin
effective February 3, 2002. Henry so moved, second by Goodwin and the motion was
carried on a voice vote.
BID AWARD
A. Goodwin read a letter from Gordon Moore, Street Commissioner, recommending that
Georgia Direct Carpet be awarded the bid for carpet at the Street Department in the
amount of$2,337.16. Henry so moved, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried
on a voice vote.
CHANGE ORDER
A. Goodwin read Change Order#2 on concrete curb and gutter work on South 23`d Street.
The additional costs is $36,430, the deduction is $47,074,which results in a deduction of
$644.00. Henry moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a
voice vote.
B. City Engineer Bob Wiwi requested Change Order#1 on the Vehicle Wash Building. The
deduction is $2,099 with the new total being $124,759. Henry moved to approve, second
by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice
vote, the meeting was adjourned.
