HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-24-2002 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,JANUARY 24, 2002 111 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry and Bruce Metzger in attendance. Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe was absent. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Henry moved to approve the minutes of January 17, 2002, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims for payment from the Finance Department in the amount of$1,016,020.73 and moved for approval, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CURB CUT A. Goodwin read a request from First Baptist Church for a curb cut on South 17th Street. The church will be closing two curb cuts leaving one open and with this request it will give them two on South 17th Street. Henry moved to approve subject to recommendations from Public Works and Safety and Traffic Division, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENING A. The following bids were opened for Street Department carpet: Tim Hogan Carpet, $2,071.30; Richmond Carpet Outlet, $2,801.57; and Georgia Direct$2,619.29. These bids will be taken under advisement and awarded at a later date. CONTRACT A. Henry explained this is an addendum to Contract#11-2002 for Conseco Risk Management to provide insurance consulting in the amount of$10,000 to be effective through December 31, 2003. Metzger moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CHANGE ORDER A. Grants Administrator Tony Foster explained change order#3 on the Gorge Park environmental assessment. An additional $924 was added as a result of the findings of the Geophysical Survey that was previously completed, bringing the new total to $32,714. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
