HomeMy Public PortalAbout7/1/2019-6/30/2022 Fire IAFF MOAMEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE TOWN OF WATERTOWN AND WATERTOWN FIRE, FIGHTERS LOCAL 1347 Except as modified by the terns of this Memorandum of Understanding all terms and conditions of the predecessor agreement expiring June 30, 2019 shall remain in full force and effect throughout the duration of this agreement, July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. 1. WAGES: Increase base wages as follows: m 2.25% - Effective July 1, 2019 • 2% - Effective July 1, 2020 ® 2% - Effective July 1, 2021 2, Article III (Salaries): s Effective July 1, 2019, the officer differential will be 17.5% percent for Firefighter -Lieutenant. ® Effective July 1, 2020, the officer differential will be 17% percent for Lieutenant -Captain. o Effective July 1, 2021, the officer differential will be 18% for Firefighter - Lieutenant 3. Article IIIA (Night Shift Differential)/Article IIIB (Staff Personnel Differential): • Effective July 1, 2019, increase night shift and staff personnel differentials to fourteen and one-half 04.5%) of sixty percent (6011/o) of their weekly base pay. 4. Article XXXII, Residence: ® Amend to increase the radius to 20 miles of Water town. 5, Private Details Effective on funding of agreement, amend to reflect that a member working a detail that goes hi. excess of four (4) hours shall be paid eight (8) hours. And, that a member working a detail that goes in excess of eight (8) hours shall be paid time and one-half (1 112) for every hour worked beyond eight (9). 1 6. Add Assistant Fire Chief to recognition clause exclusions. The Union agrees to the elimination of the Staff Services Captain and the transfer of associated bargaining unit as described within the Town's September 24, 2019 proposal attached hereto provided that the parties agree to the following: o Only Deputy Chiefs are eligible for position of Assistant Chief. ® The Assistant Chief will act as the Chief in his or her absence; and, ® The Assistant Chief shall not be used to fill deputy chief overtime vacancies. ® Deputy Chiefs once voluntarily assigned to the position of Assistant Chief shall be required to remain in such assignment for a minimum of two (2) years; and, o A Deputy Chief shall not be denied a request to vacate the position of Assistant Chief after s/he has served in such for a minimum of two (2) years; and ® In the event that no member volunteers to serve in the position of Assistant Chief, the most -recently promoted Deputy Chief shall be offered the position, If s/he declines, then s/he will be demoted to captain, the Assistant Chief position will remain unfilled and the transferred bargaining unit work described above shall be restored to the Staff Services Captain. 7. Article XXXVIII (Duration of Agreement): Modify dates to reflect successor three (3) year agreement. S. ARTICLE XXIX (Protective Clothing and Uniforms): Change last line to read "It is expressly understood that all personnel shall wear station/work garments as determined by the Chief of Department while on duty".
