A RESOULTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH.RRM DESIGN
GROUP TO PROVIDE PLANNING AND CONSULTING SERVICES TO THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF A CIVIC CENTER COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood received an Environmental Justice Grant from
Caltrans in the amount of $100,000 for the preparation of a Civic Center
Comprehensive Plan (Plan); and
WHEREAS, the City/issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for planning and
consultant services with the preparation of the Plan, which includes public outreach,
transportation analysis, "Green" Building assessments, and brand identity; and
WHEREAS, the City conducted an extensive evaluation of submitted RFPs and
determined that RRM Design Group has the experience and expertise in which to
complete the services requested by the City; and
WHEREAS, RRM Design Group has all required state bonds and liability
insurances to assist the City in the preparation of the Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood would benefit by preparing and adopting the
Plan, which proposes to link the City's Public Transportation Station to major transit
points within the City in order to encourage public modes of travel, improve economic
viability of the area, and increase the use of public areas within the Civic Center area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the Mayor to
execute an agreement between the City of Lynwood and RRM Design Group to
perform planning and consultant services to the City of Lynwood in conjunction
with the preparation of the Civic Center Comprehensive Plan, approved as to
form by the City Attorney.
Section 2. That this Resolution is to be given effect immediately upon
adoption.
