A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL AUDIT SERVICES FOR THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD BEGINNING WITH FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 TO
THE FIRM VASQUEZ & COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood solicited bids for professional audit services,
and seven firms submitted their proposal; and
WHEREAS, City staff reviewed all the proposals and all firms met the minimum
qualifications; and
WHEREAS, some firms stood out from the rest, City staff interviewed those firms
and determined that Vasquez & Company LLP was the most qualified firm to perform
the audit services required; and
WHEREAS, the accounting firm of Vasquez & Company LLP has extensive audit
experience in governmental area and provided competitive fees; and
WHEREAS, Vasquez & Company LLP will provide professional audit services at
$64,800 for the initial year and a total of $200,400 for three years; and
WHEREAS, in addition to providing professional audit services, the fee includes
the preparation of the State Controller's Reports.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a three-year
professional auditing services contract to Vasquez & Company LLP, with the option to
extend the contract for two additional years, approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
