THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 4,2001
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Thursday, October
4, 2001, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with
Bruce Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe present. Robin Henry was absent. The following
business was conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Metzger made a motion to approve the minutes for the September 27, 2001 meeting, second by Goodwin
and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
There were no claims for payment.
REQUESTS
A. Goodwin made a motion for"Beggars Night"to be Wednesday, October 31, 2001 from
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
B. Goodwin read a request for a curb cut at 3121 Hodgin Road. Metzger moved to approve
subject to conditions of Public Works and Engineering, second by Goodwin and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.
C. Goodwin read a letter from Police Chief Bill Shake requesting the appointment of Marilyn
Juhasz as a Special Officer, related to animals and their control, effective October 8,
2001. Metzger moved to approve, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a
voice vote.
BID OPENING
A. The following bids were opened for the demolition of eight buildings: Mike Delucio &
Sons, 1116 North "G"St.$4,000; 321 South 11th St. $5,000; 224 South 10th St. $4,000;
608 North 9th St. $6,500;403 North 17th St. $6,500; 1114 North "G"St. $4,000; 623 North
13th St. $5,800; Addendum for Old Restroom/Concession Bldg. $12,000: Butler
Excavating: 1114 North "G St. $2,550; 1116 North "G"St. $2,550; 608 North 9th St.
$8,500; 623 North 13th St. $18,500; 403 North 17th St. $11,000; 321 South 11th St.
$4,700; 224 South 10th St. $4,000; Restroom/Concession Bldg. $18,000: Ditty
Construction; 1116 North "G"St. $4,100; 321 South 11th St. 5,000;224 South 10th
St.$3,500; 608 North 9th St., $5,800; 403 North 17th St. $6,500; 1114 North "G"St.
$4,100; 623 North 13th St. $9,000: No Bid on Park Building: Cox Excavating; 1116 North
"G"St., $3,200; 321 South 11th St. $4,900; 224 South 10th St. $4,200; 608 North 9th St.
$5,490; 403 North 17th St. $5,900; 1114 North"G' St. $3,200; 623 North 13th St. $5,900;
and no bid on Park Building. These bids will be taken under advisement and awarded at
a later date.
B. The following bids were opened for door replacement repair at Fire Stations 2 &4;
Whitewater Construction $1,970 and Paul Bisker Contracting $1,680. These bids will be
reviewed and awarded at a later date.

AGREEMENT
A. Rabe asked that the GIS Contract be held for a later date.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice
vote, the meeting was adjourned.
