HomeMy Public PortalAbout040-2021 - Civilian Salary 2022 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA ORDINANCE NO.40-2021 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO BE KNOWN AS THE 2022 SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointed officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments,except police officers and firefighters,prior to November 1 for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office prior to November 1 for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments set forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office;except by amendment approved by Common Council. - 37.076.00 Hourly Boards President Board of Works Appointed -- 3,994.00 Stipend Members Board of Works(2) Appointed -- 3,329.00 Stipend Aviation Board(4) Appointed -- 497.00 Per Diem •Salaries may be compensated as set forth in the ranges established herein for each position which includes a.5%(one-half percent)increase per year of service in the position.All positions designated as"Union°are established as a flat amount herein based on a negotiated union contract Other positions as reflected in the Police and Fire columns may be contigent upon policy differentials as approved by the Mayor,Controller and Human Resources. TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME In addition to the positions set forth above,the Mayor and the City Department Heads may,as needed, hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from$7.25 to$15.00 per hour. Due to the specialized training required, compensation for Certified Paramedics may range from$7.25 to$18.00 per hour. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION In addition to the salaries set forth above,certain employees,excluding members of the Board of Works and Safety,the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board,may be entitled to additional compensation, such as,overtime,compensation time,etc.,and fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
