HomeMy Public PortalAbout427CITY OF MEDINA ORDINANCE NO.427 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT TAX DISTRICT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEDINA, MINNESOTA ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Background: Findings. 1.01. The City is authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Sections 444.16 — 444.21 (the "Act") to establish a storm sewer improvement tax district (the "District") to acquire, construct, reconstruct, extend, maintain and otherwise improve storm sewer systems and related facilities within the District in accordance with the Act, and to finance such activities by ad valorem taxes levied on property within the District. 1.02. It is found and determined that it is in the best interests of Medina and its storm water management program that the District be established. The District shall be comprised of the land within Medina legally described as follows: Lots 1 through 4, Block 1, and Outlot A, Willow Hill Preserve, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Section II. Establishment: Authorizations. 2.01. The Willow Hill Preserve Storm Sewer Improvement Tax District is established. The city shall have all powers and authority conferred by the Act in the operation of the District. 2.02. The boundaries of the District are as described above. 2.03. The City Administrator -Clerk is authorized and directed to file a certified copy of the ordinance with the Auditor and Recorder of Hennepin County. Section III. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption and publication. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Medina this 17 day of July, 2007. "1t_ Attest: T.M. Crosby, Jr., Mayor Chad M.
