AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO,
AMENDING SECTION 11-6-3 OF THE CITY CODE OF IONA,
IDAHO; RELATING TO CONDITIONAL USES; PROVIDING
FOR METHODOLOGY, PRESERVING PRIOR ORDINANCE;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IONA,
IDAHO, THAT:
Section 1. Amendment of Section 11-6-3, Iona City Code. Section 11-6-3 of
the City Code of Iona, Idaho, is amended as follows:
11-6-3: CONDITIONAL USES: The City may, after notice and public hearing, permit
the following uses where such uses are deemed essential or desirable to the public
convenience or welfare. The City may require an impact statement to assess the impact
of any conditional use upon surrounding properties and upon city services and
infrastructure. The City may impose such conditions and safeguards, as it deems
necessary to protect the best interests of the surrounding property or neighborhood and
city services or infrastructure from damage, hazard, nuisance or other detriment:

Wholesale operations.
Junk or salvage yards/Second hand sales.
Adult book stores or adult businesses.
Automobile, truck, tractor or similar repair shops.
Welding or machine shops.
Commercial storage buildings.
Manufactured home or recreational vehicle sales or parks.
Government protective facilities.
Temporary buildings as uses necessary for construction purposes for
to exceed one (1) year.
Any business requiring bulk storage for resale of any flammable liquid
above or below ground.

Any business for which a beer, wine or liquor license is required under the
provisions of Chapters 2, 3 and 4, of Title 4 of this Code, whether for consumption
on or off premises.
Section 2. Methodology. For the purpose of this Ordinance, text that is
underlined in the preceding sections means new text added to the former Ordinance or City
Code Section, and text that is stricken through means text that is being deleted from the
former Ordinance or Code Section. Text that is moved from one location in the former
Ordinance to another is similarly shown as underlined text.
Section 3. Preservation of Prior Ordinance. The sections of the City Code
repealed or amended by this Ordinance shall be preserved to the extent necessary to allow
the arrest, prosecution and punishment of any person who violates such provisions prior
to the effective date hereof.
Section 4. Severability. The sections and subsections of this Ordinance are
severable. The invalidity of any section or subsection shall not affect the validity of the
remaining sections or subsections.
Section 5. Effective Date.This Ordinance shall become effective on its passage,
execution and publication in the manner provided by law.

Easter egg hunt. Come join the fun. Iona will hold its 12th annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 11t at 11:00. This
year the event will be held behind the City building in the park. The event is open to children ages 0-11. Plan on
staying for lunch, hotdogs and sodas will be sold for 25 cents each.
T-ball / softball sign-ups. T-ball sign ups will be held on Saturday April 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and
again on Monday April 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Community Center located at 3548 North Main
Street in Iona. Coach's packets will be available at the City Clerk's office after April 1st. The season runs from
June 1st to July lst' The leagues offered are; t-ball ages 4-5, t-ball ages 6-7, pitching machine ages 8-12, girls
softball ages 8-10, and girls softball ages I 1-14. The games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays and
the cost is $28 per player. Kaylynn Resendez, the city's athletic coordinator, is asking for public input regarding
this season's softball teams. She is considering offering a fast -pitch league and would like your opinion
regarding the subject. Contact Kaylynn Resendez at iames5(&,,bdawg.net.
Spring clean-up day. Saturday May 2nd will be the City of Iona's annual spring clean-up day from 10:00 a.m.
to noon. Round -up your family and join your neighbors to help keep our city clean. Anyone interested in
helping with some light tree pruning at the park please bring your prunersand meet at the City building at 10:00
a.m. If you have bags of trash you would like the City to haul away, please call the City office at 523-5600 in
advance to make prearrangements. The City may not have the ability to accommodate all items requested.
Every little bit helps, and your efforts are much appreciated. Hotdogs and drinks will be served at the square

Speed limit information. Due to increased pedestrian use along Iona Rd./ Owens Ave. the speed limit has been
reduced from 35m.p.h. to 25 m.p.h. unless otherwise posted. Bonneville County Road and Bridge will install
the new speed limit signs as soon as the weather permits.
