who are no longer able to recognize people and
common objects; whose limbs seem alien to
them; who lack some skills yet are gifted with
uncanny artistic or mathematical talents. In Dr.

deeply human and his tales are studies of
struggles against incredible adversity. A great
healer, Sacks never loses sight of medicine's
ultimate responsibility: "the suffering, afflicted,
fighting human subject." Upcoming May: The

Zoom Mindfulness and Healthy
Aging by Sharmane Simard,
Mt Auburn Hospital, Tuesday, April26at11 am
Research consistently finds that older adults tend
to experience more positive emotion than our
younger counterparts and that we also tend to
become more mindful as we age. In 27 studies
researchers have examined how mindfulness
affected three areas of healthy aging on: attentio
well-being, and inflammation. This presentation
will define mindfulness, briefly discuss why we
may grow more mindful over time and practice a
few mindfulness exercises that we can use in our
daily life. Call the Senior Center to get the link to

mm In -Person Pick the Perfect
Trust(s) with Dale Tamburro
' - Wednesday, April 27at 1 pm
Everyone, regardless of income, should have
an estate plan to ensure that the maximum
amount of the estate's assets pass to the owner's
beneficiaries. Failing to appropriately plan can lead
to family conflict, unexpected taxes and higher
probate costs, all of which are worth avoiding.
Many people think a simple will is the answer.
Unfortunately, although wills are important estate
planning tools, they often aren't enough to do the
job. An estate plan of any level of sophistication
should include the use of one or more trusts,
which are often used in conjunction with, or in
addition to, a will.

After years of collecting on a small, personal scale,
in 1891, Isabella inherited $1.75 million upon her
father's death and was able to begin collecting on
a greatly expanded level. Upon purchasing
Rembrandt's Self -Portrait, Age 23 in 1896, Isabella
and her husband Jack decided their ambitions as
collectors required more space than their
residence permitted and first began to consider
the idea of a museum. Isabella and Jack reached
out to Willard Sears, who had remodeled their
house in Brookline. As Isabella's collection and
ambitions continued to grow, Jack felt it would be
more sensible to buy land and build a new building
for the museum with apartments for themselves
within it. Wa terto wn residen ts only.

PUBLIC LIBRARY
We Want Your Photos!
The Library's Local History Collection includes
photographs and artifacts dating back to the city's
founding, but there is a problem — we have very
little record of what happened in Watertown in
the last 70 years! There are two ways you can
help:
Upload digital photos through the Library's
website. Bring your physical photos to a
digitization day! We'll scan and return them to
you.
