Driscoll, Town Manager From: Steve Magoon, DCDP Director, Assistant Town Manager Date: May 5, 2018 Subject: Proposed ZTA for Height in the RMUD Attached is a request from William York, representing Boylston Properties and Arsenal Yards, requesting an amendment to the RMUD zone to allow for greater height. Please place this on the Honorable Town Council agenda for a first reading and referral to the Planning Board for public hearing. Staff is available to answer any questions. Cc Mark R. Reich, KP Law Pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A, Section 5, the Petitioner hereby respectfully submits to the Honorable Town Council of the Town of Watertown the following proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance. Amend Subsection (c) (5) (B) of Section 5.18 (Regional Mixed Use District) by inserting the following redlined language which subsection will read as follows: (B) Maximum height of building: 55 feet or, 79 feet by Master Plan Special Permit, or 130 feet (197 feet if a project encompasses a minimum of ten (10) acres) by Master Plan Special Permit within a defined mixed -use project, using adopted Design Guidelines provided the project includes a diversity of building heights and furthers the intent and purpose of (§5.18.a) of the RMUD.
