HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 9/14/1970195 The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on September 14 with all councilmen present. Mayor Ross presided. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved on a motion by Vran Deest, seconded by Eckhoff. Carried. The �reasilx'er's report was accepted as read on a motion by Claassen and seconded by Van Deest. Carried. The clerk was instructed to invest $35,000 in time certificates. Huisman made a motion which was seconded by Claassen to allow the following bills for payment: Aeilt Terfehn, salary �359.66 Herman DeVries, salary 359.66 Henry J. Grobe, salary 72.00 Wellsburg Fire Dept. July -Aug. meetings and fire calls 175.50 John E. Riekena, labor on pump control 11.00 Jungling Gulf, gas, oil & battery 157.69 Ackley Quarries, rock 409.57 Clary Concrete Materials, asphalt 133.50 Sailer Ford, tractor hub 11.19 Ryken Engineering Co., surveying 110.00 Verwers Well Co., labor on pump and pipe916.7� Meint J. Bakker, asphalt 672.6?F Raymond Riebkes, labor on town hall 25'7.25 Gelder Auto Salvage, repairs on GMC 28085 Wellsburg Herald, printing for July and August 113.66 Deters Auto Service, labor on mower 6.00 Brainard Electronics, radio repair 25.25 United Telephone Co., toll calls 9.69 Iowa Electric Light & Power, heat', light and power 507.03 There being no further business, Eckhoff made a motion for adjournment. Hollis Ryken, representing Ryken Engineering, met with the council to outline preliminary plans for the 1971 curb and gutter program. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed agreement and resolution between the Town of Wellsburg and the Grundy County Sanitary Landfill Commission.
