A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL QUALIFYING PERIOD FOR THE
NOVEMBER 6, 2012 GENERAL ELECTION; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") General Election is scheduled for
November 6, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County (the "County") Elections Department has requested
that the Village Council's qualifying period for the General Election be modified in order to meet
statutory deadlines for the mailing of overseas absentee ballots; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to accommodate the County Elections
Department's request; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village Council may, by
Resolution, modify the Village Council's qualifying period; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare
of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals Adopted. Each of the above stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Village Council Qualifying Period Established. The Village Council
hereby establishes the qualifying period for the November 6, 2012 General Election for the Village
Council as follows:
Start: Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
End: Friday, August 17, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of March, 2012.
