AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.47-2020 KNOWN AS
THE 2021 SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer,deputy and
other employee of the city departments,except police officers and firefighters,prior to November 1st for the
ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and
WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office
prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and
WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be
reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments set
forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office;except by amendment approved by
Common Council;and
WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 47-2020 to establish salaries for the year 2021 and
now fords it necessary to amend the salaries within the Department of Infrastructure and Development.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana that the following position
be compensated not in excess of the respective sum hereafter set forth during the remainder of calendar year 2021,to wit:

TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME
In addition to the positions set forth above,the Mayor and the City Department Heads may,as needed,
hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation
for these positions may range from$7.25 to$15.00 per hour. Due to the specialized training required,
compensation for Certified Paramedics may range from$7.25 to$18.00 per hour.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
In addition to the salaries set forth above,certain employees,excluding members of the Board of
Works and Safety,the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board,may be entitled to additional compensation,
such as,overtime,compensation time,etc.,and fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond
Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
