HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-27-2003 Workshop Session . . . 463 Town of Hlli,~ WORKSHOP MINUTES lllLLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD October 27, 2003 7:30 PM, Town Barn The Hillsborough Town Board held a monthly workshop on October 27,2003 at 7:30 PM in the Hillsborough Town Barn. Present for the Workshop were Mayor Joe Phelps, and Commissioners Michael Gering, Kenneth Chavious, and Evelyn Lloyd. Staff present were Town Manager Eric Peterson, Assistant Town Manager/Public Works Director Demetric Potts and Planning Director Margaret Hauth. gh 1. OPEN THE WORKSHOP Mayor Joe Phelps opened the Workshop at 7:30 PM. 2, AGENDA CHANGES & AGENDA APPROVAL By consensus, the Board approved the Agenda as presented. 3. OPEN BOARD DISCUSSION, UPDATES, COMMITTEE REPORTS Commissioner Gering updated the Board on the Clock Committee last meeting and informed the Board that the Clock is scheduled to be re-installed next week. Mayor Phelps asked local citizen Margaret Hauth to explain her proposal to donate a parcel of land to the Town that was formally part of the old Hillsborough Rest Home. Ms. Hauth reported that the property is just about renovated and ready to sell. She stated that she would like to donate a 50' X 130' lot to the Town with the stipulation that it be used for a neighborhood park. She requested feedback from the Board to determine whether they are interested in the property. Mayor Phelps suggested placing this as an Item on the Consent Agenda for the November 10th Regular Meeting, and the Board agreed. 4, DISCUSS PROPOSED W ATERSTONE DEVELOPMENT Jack Smyre, representing the proposed Waterstone Project addressed the Board and fielded questions regarding the project. 5. OTHER There were no other issues discussed. 6. CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION Upon a motion by Commissioner Gering, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to discuss potential property acquisition by a vote of 3-0. The motion was declared passed. 464 . 7. ADJOURN Upon returning to Open Session, and upon a motion by Commissioner Gering, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, the Board moved to adjourn at approximately 9:00 PM by a vote of 3-0.
