HomeMy Public PortalAboutRES-CC-2001-21Resolution 21-2001 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A WORKERS COMPENSATION BENEFIT PROTECTION CONTRACT WITH UTAH RETIREMENT SYSTEMS WHEREAS, Moab City does not currently pay retirement premiums for employees who are unable to work due to a work related injury and retirement benefits do not accrue for employees who are unable to work due to a work related injury, and WHEREAS, Moab City is desirous of adopting a Workers' Compensation Benefit Protection Contract with Utah Retirement Systems to enable employees with work related inlunes to accrue retirement benefits, NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Governing Body of the City of Moab do hereby adopt the Workers' Compensation Benefit Protection Contract with Utah Retirement Systems as follows See attached contract Passed and adopted by action of the Governing Body of the City of Moab in open session this 13a' day of November, 2001 At t WaCax-to cgA0,<);,,, Rachel Ellison City Recorder Resoluuon M21-2001 CITY OF MOAB BY'lira/V l./ie. dO.yl��c6 J Karla R Hancock Mayor rate 1 of 1 BENEFIT PROOFCTION CONTRACT (Workers Compensation) 2001 NOV 26 PM 2 02 Pursuant 10 Utah Code Ann § 49-1-404, as amended, Utah State RetirWait Board ("Board') and Moab City #415, ("Group") hereby enter into this benefit protection contract for the benefit of Group's employees During the time Group's employees are receiving Worker's Compensation benefits, Group agrees to pay to the Board retirement contributions on behalf of such employees The amount of the contnbutions shall be determined by the Board and shall be based on the employee's rate of compensation at the time of injury Contnbutrons and adjustments shall be made by the Group in accordance with applicable Board policies and procedures Failure to make contributions will result in cancellation of this contract Group also agrees to notify the Board at the time the employee receives Worker's Compensation and shall promptly supply the Board with Worker's Compensation commencement, termination dates, and compensation rates Payment of contributions as described above shall entitle the employee to accrue service credit during the period of Worker's Compensation benefits This contract shall not affect any other contracts between any of the parties, and this contract may be canceled by any party giving written notice to the other party at least 90 days prior to the effective date of termination This contract becomes effective the , c r day of 1avrtavv Please mark the division(s) maintaining this coverage ContributorylNoncontributory - School x Public Public Safety Employer Title MAYOR KARLA R.
