DESIGNATING THE CARTERET BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP,
INC. AS THE REDEVELOPER FOR THE ROOSEVELT AVENUE -
LOCUST STREET REHABILITATION AREA
WHEREAS, the Local Redevelopment
seq., as amended and supplemented (the "Rede velopment Law"), provides a process for
rehabilitation ;and
municipalities to participate in the redevelopment and improvement of areas in need of
WHEREAS, by resolution No. 14 -254 duly adopted on December 18, 2014, the
Borough Council (the "Borough Council ") of tite Borough of Carteret (the `Borough ")
designated the properties known as Black 6805, Lots 1 -8 and 22 -29 on the Borough's tax
map as the Roosevelt Avenue- Locust Street Rehabilitation Area (the "Rehabilitation
Area ") as an area in need of rehabilitation under the Redevelopment Law; and
WHEREAS, the Borough desires to designate the Carteret Business Partnership,
Inc, ( "CBP ") as the Redeveloper for all, or a part of, the Rehabilitation Area; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
Section 1. The CBP is hereby designated as the redeveloper for all, or a part
of, the Rehabilitation Area as may be further determined by the Authorized Officers upon
review and approval of proposed Rehabilitation Project(s) for said Area.
Section 2. The Mayor, Chief Financial Officer, or Director of Law (each an
"Authorized Officer ") are hereby each severally authorized, after consultation with such
counsel and any advisors to the Borough (collectively, the "Borough Consultants" ) , as
such Authorized Officer deems necessary, desirable or convenient, in such Authorized
Officer's discretion, to enter into any and all agreements in fitrtherance of such
Rehabilitation Project(s).
Section 3. All actions of the %buhodzed Officers and the Borough
Consultants taken print t„ the date Of a- „pllon hereof in connection with the
Rehabilitation Area are hereby ratified and approved.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect at the time and in the manner
prescribed by law.
