HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-08-2001 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 8, 2001 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2001, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry, and Bruce Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Metzger made a motion to approve minutes of February 1, 2001, second by Henry.and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims in the amount of $278,762.10 and moved for approval, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Goodwin presented a contract to add "The Brake Shop" to the towing list for the City of Richmond. Metzger made a motion to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENINGS A. The following bids were opened for the street department fuel monitoring system: Reynolds Service Tech Inc., $6,625.00 and K & W Fueling Systems Inc., Rushville, $5,577.00. These bids will be taken under advisement and will come back to the board for a recommendation. B. The following bids were opened for the installation of cabinets at Fire Station #5: John Dillman Construction, $1,906.25; Paul Bisker Contractors, $1,323.00 and Foley Home Improvement, $2,130. Chief Mike Allen requested that the bids be opened and awarded this evening. BOW Minutes Cont'd February 8, 2001 Page 2 AGREEMENT A. Henry presented an addendum to the Benefit Systems Contract. This contract will be on file in the Clerk's Office. Metzger moved to approve the addendum and to grant the chairman the authority to sign the contract, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID AWARD A. Chief Allen reviewed the bids for the installation of the cabinets and recommended Paul Bisker Contractors for $1,323. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
