HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-14-2000 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 14, 2000 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry and City Assistant Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Metzger moved to approve the minutes for December 7, 2000, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims in the amount of $300,722.86 and moved for approval of payment, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Goodwin read a letter from Dave Stevens, Distribution Engineer for Richmond Power & Light, requesting approval for a street light on North 19th between North "C" and North "E" Streets. Henry so moved, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. BID OPENING A. The following bids were opened for the Tree Planting Contract: Ivan Foust, Richmond, $72,026.50; A. Brown and Sons Nursery of Phillipsburg, Ohio, $68,337.00 and Hillside Nursery of Cambridge City sent a letter stating they could not bid at this time. All bids will be taken under advisement and awarded at a later date. BID AWARD A. Goodwin read a letter from Purchasing Director Vicki Stevens, recommending that Meyers Mechanical be awarded the contract for HVAC. Henry said she had spoken to Stevens, regarding the contract not having proper non-discrimination language. Stevens has drafted another contract with the proper language and Meyers just needs to sign again. Metzger made a motion to award the bid to Meyers Mechanical, and to approve the proposed contract, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
