HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-07-2000 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 7, 2000 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry and City Assistant Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Henry moved to approve the minutes for November 30, 2000, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Henry presented claims in the amount of $1,728,678.76 and moved for approval of payment, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. REQUESTS A. Fire Chief Mike Allen asked the Board to approve the promotion of Jeff Kinder from Probationary Engineer to Engineer status. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Police Chief Bill Shake presented a letter to the Board asking for Donald Sean O'Brien to be advanced from Probationary Officer to 1st Class Patrol Officer with the Richmond Police Department. Henry made a motion to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote C. Lt. Paul Phillips presented a request for a reserved residential handicapped parking space at 1111 Crosshall Street for Carrie Owens. He said she has no suitable off street parking and asked that the board approve the request. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. D. Phillips read another request for a reserved residential handicapped parking space, for James W. Ponder at 404 Richmond Avenue. He again stated there is no suitable off street parking and recommended approval. Henry so moved, seconded by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Board of Works Minutes December 7; 2000 Page 2 CURB CUT A. Goodwin read a request for an access petition at 2325 Flatley Road. He asked that it be approved with the conditions that the construction be up to city standards and all debris be cleaned from the construction site. Metzger moved to approve subject to conditions of Public Works and Engineering and Planning Departments, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Goodwin recognized two students from Centerville High School stating that if they had any questions after the meeting the board would be happy to answer them. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
