HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-30-2000 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 30, 2000 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 30 , 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry and City Attorney Bob Bever present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Metzger moved to approve the minutes for November 22, 2000, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT There were no claims for payment. BID OPENING A. Bids were opened for gasoline and fuel for 2001. They were from Harvestland Co-op and Warfield Oil with various amounts included. These bids will be taken under advisement and brought back at a later meeting. B. The following bids were opened for HVAC in the City Building: Meyers Mechanical, Richmond, $6,195.00, $46.00 per hour and for overtime $58.00 an hour; CN Contractors Inc., Cambridge City, $26,382. $36.00 per hour and for overtime $54.00 an hour; Bader Mechanical $7,920. $63 an hour and for overtime $93. an hour. These bids will be taken under advisement and brought back at a later meeting. CHANGE ORDER A. A letter was read from Building Inspector, Wayne Jackson, concerning removal of a garage at 206 Pearl Street. Lawrence Cox Excavating was awarded the original bid for removal of the house and has offered to remove the garage for an additional fee of $300. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Board of Works Minutes November 30, 2000 Page 2 AGREEMENT A. City Attorney Bob Bever explained Resolution #2 — 2000, saying the City has the option to purchase 171 acres of State farm land for Phase II of the Midwest Industrial Park. Metzger made a motion to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Bob Goodwin introduced several students from Richmond High School. They explained that they were attending meetings in the community as part of a project for their economics class. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
