HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-16-2000 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 16, 2000 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry and City Assistant Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Henry moved to approve the minutes for November 9, 2000, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT There were no claims for payment. REQUESTS A. Goodwin read a request for an access permit at 1125 Canterbury Trail. Metzger moved to approve, subject to conditions by the Public Works 111 and Engineering, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS ON RIDENOUR PLACE SUBDIVISION A. City Engineer, Bob Wiwi, recommended to the Board that the streets and infrastructure improvements in Ridenour subdivision be approved. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ACCEPTANCE OF INDUSTRIES ROAD TO ROUND BARN ROAD ON MIDWEST INDUSTRIAL PARK A. Wiwi said all construction work was completed on Industries Road from Salisbury Road to Round Barn Road and recommended acceptance of the project as part of the city street system. Metzger so moved, second by Henry and the motion was carried on voice vote. BID OPENING A. Bids were opened for the Keyser Lane culvert replacement. Goodwin said only 2 bids were received. • Board of Works Minutes November 16, 2000 Page 211/ B. Mike Delucio and Son; $32,450.00 and Reynolds Service Tech, who failed to submit totals. Wiwi reviewed the bids and reported back to the board that he would like to table this until the next meeting. MIDWEST INDUSTRIAL PARK SECTION 2 LOT 7 A. Goodwin explained that he brought to the meeting the acetate for Lot 7, Section 2 for Midwest Industrial Park. He said the city sold this lot to Fickenscher and the Board needs to approve that sale. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. RETIREMENT OF CANINE OFFICER CARTOES A. Police Chief Bill Shake read a letter asking the board to approve the retirement of Canine Officer Cartoes. Sgt. Robert Lipps, the dog's handler, explained that the dog has arthritis and it is becoming difficult for him to perform his duties. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ENVIRONMENTAL PHASE I ASSESSMENT FOR STARR GENETT AREA A. Grants Administrator, Tony Foster, told the board the city had received a Brownfield site assessment grant from the Indiana Development Finance Authority, which means the City needs to select a consultant to do a survey. He is asking this Board to sign that agreement. Metzger moved to approve the agreement, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
