HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-07-2000 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 7, 2000 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry, Bruce Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was conducted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES Metzger moved to approve the minutes of August 31, 2000, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT There were no claims for payment. REQUESTS A. Fire Chief Mike Allen asked for the approval of the board on the hiring of William Edward McGathey, Jr. as a probationary firefighter, subject to P.E.R.F. approval. Metzger so moved, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Goodwin read a letter from Police Chief Bill Shake asking for the board to approve the hiring of Kelly Owens as a probationary police officer subject to P.E.R.F. approval. Metzger so moved, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote AGREEMENTS A. Assistant City Attorney Rabe discussed agreements for fire protective services for Spring Grove and Wayne Township. He explained that they were the same as last year with the exception of some minor language changes. Henry made a motion to accept the Spring Grove agreement, Metzger abstained, second by Goodwin and the motion was carried on a voice vote. Metzger made a motion to approve the Wayne Township agreement, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. a BOW Minutes Cont'd September 7, 2000 Page 2 CHANGE ORDERS A. Bob Wiwi read Change Order No. 7R Midwest Industrial Park, decreasing the mount by $3,065.79, and bringing the new total to $2,439,050.06. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote. B. Wiwi read Change Order No. 1 on the Northwest "0" Street extension increasing the amount $353.50 bringing the new total to $34,492.20. Henry moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed, and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
