THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 17, 2000
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5
p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal
Building. Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Bruce Metzger, Robin Henry
and City Attorney Bob Bever present. The following business was conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Henry moved to approve the minutes for August 10, 2000, second by Metzger
and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Henry presented claims for payment in the amount of $396,566.47 and moved
for their approval, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice
vote.
REQUESTS
A. Fire Chief Mike Allen requested Engine Companies of the Richmond
Fire Department to collect for the Muscular Dystrophy Association fill
the Boot Campaign at various locations throughout the city. The dates
and times are August 24, 25, and 26, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00
p.m. Metzger moved for approval, second by Henry and the motion
was carried on a voice vote.
B. Bob Goodwin requested a Curb Cut at 1909 Southwest "A" Street for a
new single family dwelling. Metzger moved for approval, second by
Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
C. Goodwin read a letter from April Moore and Alyse Ma requesting
approval for the Homecoming Parade route. Henry so moved, second
by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
D. Allen requested use of the Aerial and Engine Fire Trucks for the
Homecoming Parade. Metzger moved for approval, second by Henry
and the motion was carried on a voice vote. _

CONTRACTS
A. Bever presented the Local Firefighter 's and Fraternal Order of Police
2000 contracts and said he was happy that both had reached an
agreement. Metzger made a motion to approve the Firefighters
Contract, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
Henry made a motion to approve the F.O.P. Contract, second by
Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed,
and carried on a voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
