THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JUNE 8, 2000
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5
p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building.
Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided, with Robin Henry, Bruce Metzger, and
Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was
conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Henry moved to approve the minutes of the June 1, 2000 meeting, second by
Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Claims for payment were presented in the amount of $182,065.09. Henry moved
to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
BID OPENING
A. The following bids were opened for the heating and air conditioning for
• Fire Station #3: Lowman Metal $6, 966; Hill's Bros. 2 proposals for
different equipment $12,012.05 and $11,430.56; Bader Mechanical,
Inc. $7,254.41; and Dick Hill and Son $6,325.00. These bids will be
taken under advisement and awarded later this evening.
CHANGE ORDER #4 MIDWEST INDUSTRIAL PARK
A. Bob Wiwi, City Engineer, explained that this is an extension of the
contract time on Midwest Industrial Park Road. The project is in its final
stages of construction, and they are asking for forty-four more calendar
days to complete the project. The reason for the change order is a
delay that occurred last fall in receiving a railroad order crossing
approval and the contractor could not complete the area in and around
the railroad area. It does not involve any change in dollar amount.
Wiwi said the project could be complete on or before July 15th
Metzger moved to approve the change order, second by Henry and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.

REQUESTS
A. Goodwin read a request to approve a contract with Kottyan Auction
Co. to conduct an auction for city government at 10 A.M. Saturday,
June 24 at 401 South "Q" Street. Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe
explained that this is the same contract that has been entered into in
the past and everything seems in order and he recommended approval
of the contract. Metzger so moved, second by Henry and the motion
was carried on a voice vote.
BID AWARD
A. Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Nicholson said that after reviewing the bids
for HVAC, it is his recommendation to award the bid to Dick Hill and
Son, as the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $6,325. Henry
moved to approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on
a voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed,
and carried on a unanimous voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
