THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 25, 2000
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5
p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2000, in the Community Room in the Municipal Building..
Chairperson Bob Goodwin presided with Robin Henry, Bruce Metzger, and
Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe present. The following business was
conducted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Metzger moved to approve the minutes of the May 18, 2000 meeting, second by
Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Claims in the amount of $692,818.98 and $99,405.10 were submitted for
payment. Henry moved to approve the claims second by Metzger and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.
REQUESTS
A. Fire Chief Michael Allen asked the Board to approve Jeff Kinder for
probationary engineer effective May 23, 2000.. Metzger moved to
approve, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
B. Lt. Paul Phillips said the Traffic Safety of the Richmond Police
Department received a request to block North 13th from Main to the
north service drive, Saturday June 3rd from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. for"Kids
Basketball." This is a fundraiser to earn money to play in a national
basketball tournament in Orlando, Florida. Phillips said they
recommend approval. Henry moved to approve the request, second
by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice vote.
C. Lt. Phillips read a request for residential handicap parking at 616 South
8th Street Traffic Safety reviewed the area and recommended
approval. Metzger moved to approve, second by Henry and the
motion was carried on a voice vote.
D. Goodwin presented a request from Main Street Richmond-Wayne
County for use of the City Building (east side) for a "Stand for Children
Day Rally" on June 1, 2000 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Henry moved to
approve, second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a voice
vote.

Goodwin said the last two items on the agenda would be stricken at this
time. They received no bids on the concrete and the Supplemental
Agreement for Midwest Industrial Park has been delayed one week.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed,
and carried on a unanimous voice vote, the meeting was adjourned.
