PROMOTING REVITALIZATION EFFORTS ALONG THE ROOSEVELT
AVENUEMEST CARTERET COAIVIERCIAL CORRIDORS
NIMEREAS, the Borough has previously acted to waive certain local zoning fees as part
of the implementation of the West Carteret Fagade Improvement Program, all as part of
the Borough's revitalization initiatives for the area; and
WHEREAS, the TMayor has proposed and the Council is in agreement to further promote
retail commercial revitalization efforts within the Roosevelt Avenue extension of the
Commercial Corridor by implementing a waiver for local zoning application fees for
certain approved facade and beautification plans within the Roosevelt Avenue Corridor,
to include the Plaza 12 and Shop Rite Shopping Plazas, which start construction before
12/31/16; and
NVHEREAS, The Mayor and Borough Comicil believe this initiative will help to insure
that the property owners can take full advantage of opportunities for revitalizing their
retail facilities, with the entire community benefiting from the private investment in the
improvements made possible by this initiative.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that local zoning application fees as provided for above are hereby waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Chief
Financial Officer and Zoning Officer.
