MINUTES OF THE CROSBY PROPERTY COMMITTEE
DATE : Tuesday, March 16, 2021

1 ) Chair Joe Rego called the meeting to order at 11 : 00 a . m .
2 )Joe conducted a voice roll call and declared that a quorum is present . Also recognized Kathy
Lambert, IT Specialist for the Town of Brewster .
3 )Joe Rego read the meeting participation and recording statements
4 ) There were no public comments
5 ) Motion to approve February 16, 2021 meeting minutes by Joni Kosmach , seconded by Joe Rego ,

6 ) WEBSITE : Joe talked about needing Kathy' s guidance in exploring other ways to get more exposure
on social media because our committee is tasked with educational program development and
promotion , community involvement as in fundraising and capital needs, volunteer recruitment and
more .
Brian talked about our current presence on social media . About 9 years ago, Kathy and Brian worked
on a Go Daddy . com website, Crosbymansion . com . It contained photos and history of the mansion
along with information regarding open houses and other events . Kathy would then post on town

website . These two sites were separate .

Kathy : Switched the website and it was changed to WordPress but needs updating and a more
modern look . It also should be more user friendly to mobile devices . It needs more content, i . e . I

professional photos and can be built in - house . Our committee should be looking for something
compact and oriented towards tourism that includes history, not minutes and policy . For social media ,
content needs to be regular and constant .
We need to keep the GoDaddy account active because we are paying for the domain name, Crosby
Mansion . Brian needs to transfer the account over to the town so Crosby doesn 't need to get
reimbursed every year .
Put a mailing address on site to solicit donations . Establish a Constant Contact mailing list . We need a
constant, ongoing presence on Facebook to keep people interested . Brian asked if we can create a
new Facebook page . Kathy, said that we can set up a new page . Kathy would set up a Brewster IT
account so that Brewster has control of the page . Brian and Joni can be the Administrators on the
page and will have the ability to post on the page . We can keep news current and fresh .
The Town has a significant Facebook presence and a large mailing list . We need to rollover Crosby
content onto the Town homepage .
Kathy will look at a few templates and decide which one would be best to use . In the meantime , she
needs new photos . We should concentrate on weddings and the facilities and showcase the property .
Brian will send new photos . No problem in transferring to a different website . Kathy will create a
Facebook group and will start filling it up with content .

Peter Lombardi agrees that this will greatly improve visibility for the property .
Joe inquired about our committee not being listed yet on the town website . There will be a link to the
Mansion from the Town website . Joe will provide a list of members, description and charges to Kathy .

6 ) PROPERTY MANAGER REPORT : Brian took pictures of some town signage before talking to Ryan
Bennett . He will call Jim Gallagher regarding if the property is considered commercial or residential .
Cottages had one cancellation but they all look good . First rental is June 5th in the Bungalow

Peter Lombardi talked regarding signage for the mansion . Brian should reach out to Victor Staley the
building commissioner as well as Ryan Bennett .
7 ) NEW BUSINESS : Joni asked when the volunteers can get back into the mansion to begin work .
Peter said that only outside work can be done at this time . Waiting for State guidance on Covid
protocols .
What is the priority for getting air conditioning for the function room ? Joe asked what kind of financial
impact it would make if the mansion had AC . Brian said the mansion could be open to many more
functions in the summer months and would provide a lot more revenue for the mansion . The last
quotes were from at least 2 years ago from Robles . Joe said that he would contact Robles again to also
include all the work including electrical . The earliest that it could be installed would be Fall of 2022 .
Peter reminded the committee that we will need to revisit the focus of finances for the mansion in
order to decide what would be the best and most lucrative revenue .
Brian said that we could set up a meeting for the " Friends" group soon to further discuss the direction
and priorities . The water at the mansion and the cottages will be turned on April 15th .
