1 . The meeting was called to order by the chairman at 10 : 00 AM via
Zoom
2 . Minutes of the previous meeting were approved
3 . The meeting was joined by Erick Dray ( Historical Consultant ) , Doug
Erickson ( Mill Sit Committee ) and Chris Miller ( town Conservation . . . )
for the discussion of the request to the CPC for $ 125 , 000 , to repair
the stonewalls at the old mill site . The plans for this project were
presented and a discussion ensued regarding many aspects of the
proposed project . At the end of the discussion a motion was made ,
seconded and unanimously approved to recommend that the CPC
approve the application for $ 125 , 000 for repair of the stonewall at
the mill site .
4 . The committee reviewed and discussed the proposal by Ocean Edge
to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a change in use of the Nickerson
House and barn the barn . The committee looked favorably on the
proposed addition to the barn but has concerns on the proposed
addition to the parking lot . After extensive discussion the committee
proposed , seconded and unanimously approved the attached letter
of support to the Zoning Board of Appeal .
S . Faythe Ellisupdated the committee on the progress on the project to
complete an additional 70 form B ' s . She is to check with the vendor
about any additional cost of creating a Form A for Brewster Park
6 . Patricia discussed progress on obtaining box binders for: hard copies
of the Form = B ' s
7 . Patricia and Faythe agreed to move forward to update the Historic
home map and have it made available on the BHC section of the
Town website .
8 . The committee was updated on the CPC funded project to
renovation of the historic Frank Crosby barn used by Cape Rep . The
CPC has agreed to provide the Cape Rep with the originally agreed to
$ 400 ,000 to complete phase 1 of the project ( basically the exterior )
but withhold 10 % of the grant until Phase 2 of the project is
completed .
9 . The Cobb House barn project has been completed but is awaiting the
finalization of the documents regarding the historical preservation
restrictions .
10 . The possible relocation of the 1890 Springhill House barn by the
BHS to their windmill site and the disposition of the historic 1890
house were discussed . It was decided to invite the Town
Administrator to our next meeting to discuss this and other issues .
11 . The presentation to the Brewster Board of Trade Board of
Directors which was postponed by the pandemic will be rescheduled
12 . The chairman is to recontact the HDC and BHS on forming a group
to evaluate proposals for the Historic Building Renovation Award
13 . The committee continued to discuss a proposal for a Demolition
Delay Law . The committee to implement the Long Term Vision
Proposals into specific recommendation in the Local Comprehensive
Plan is expected to include the issue of a demolition delay law .
14 . The Chairman agreed to contact various disparate parties to form
a committee to coordinate the events and programs around the
town ' s historical heritage .
15 . There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at
11 : 05 AM
