ARTICLE 6
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE SIGN ORDINANCE IN
REGARDS TO SIGN SETBACKS, TEMPORARY SIGNS, AND PROJECT
IDENTIFICATION SIGNS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESXDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, AS FOLLOWS:
I. That Ordinance No. 1275 be amended by the follawing
addition:
A. DEFIN7TION5
(31) PROJECT IDENTIFICATION SIGN. A sign located
far the purpose of identifying the site of a
specific project, its contractors,
architects, engineers, developers and
owners.
II. That Section E, GROUN,np SIGNS, No. 3, sha11 be amended
as follows:
(3) Ground sign setbacks shall be no less than
five (5) feet from all lot lines so as not
to be a safety hazard. In the Central Sign
District, ground signs shall be located on
the same lot as the business identified by
said sign. No minimum setback from property
lines are required, however, signs may not
overhang interior side or rear property
lines.
III.. That Section K be amended on its face as follows:
K. R L ESTA AND PROJECT IDENT F CATION SIGNS
Real Estate and Project Identification signs must
satisfy all other sign ordinance requirements in
addition to the follawing:
That Section K is amended by the addition of the
following:
(8) Project Identification signs shall be
removed within thirty (30) days of occupancy
of the subject Premises.
IV. That Section L, GASOLINE STATION SIGNS, No. 3, shall be
amended to read as follows:
(3) Such signs shall, in no case, exceed a height of

twelve (12) feet and must be set back at least
five (5) feet from the front or side tat line.
V. That Section O, TEMPORARY SIGNS, shall be amended as
.follows:
(5) Temporary signs sha11 be limited to thirty (30)
day periods which may be renewed upon approval of
a permit renewal request. Permit renewal may be
denied for health, safety, welfare ar public
nuisance reasons.
VI. All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
This Ordinance shah, be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval, and publication as required by law.
This Ordinance shall be numbered as Ordinance No. 1365
