SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF JANUARY 28, 2014
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file actions of the Planning Commission
from their meeting of January 28, 2014.
BACKGROUND:
On January 28, 2014, the Planning Commission held their regular meeting.
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the January 28, 2014 Planning
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner-Curran, Horton, O'Leary, Vice-Chairman Leung,
Chairman Cordes
Absent: Commissioner-None
Excused: Commissioner-None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Planning Commission approved the minutes from their Regular Meeting of
December 10, 2013.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. The Planning Commission approved a request to allow a bathroom and denied
a request to retain an unpermitted kitchen in an existing rumpus room at
10130 Olive Street. The rumpus room is a stand-alone structure in the rear
yard adjacent a swimming pool. One condition of approval includes the
applicant to file for a Covenant to avoid conversion of the rumpus room to a
second unit.
B. COMMUNICATIONS
Chairman Cordes reported that the next meeting of the SR-71 0 North Study
Advisory Committee (SOAC) is scheduled for a date to be determined in February
2014.
C. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS-None
D. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
Planning Manager Starns announced that the Planning Commission Meeting
of February 11, 2014, has been cancelled. The Planning Commission will
reconvene February 25, 2014. ·
E. ADJOURNMENT
The Planning Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:06p.m.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.

This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
