RESOLUTION NO. 2013.116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING A CONTRACT AMENDMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL FORENSIC
AUDIT SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF LYNWOOD TO AVANT ADVISORY
GROUP
WHEREAS, the City's Ad Hoc Audit Committee directed staff to hire a
forensic auditor to review the City's waste hauler billing records to assist special
counsel in determining the proper amount of payments that should have been
paid to CDS over the term of the contract; and
WHEREAS, on July 2, 2013, Council approved a contract with a not-to-
exceed amount of $65,000; and
WHEREAS, the final invoice has been received, which exceeds the
approved contract amount by $22,752.69; and
•
WHEREAS, staff is requesting Council approval for a contract in an
amount not-to-exceed $87,752.69.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to amend the
professional forensic auditing services contract to Avant Advisory Group, with a
not-to-exceed amount of $87,752.69, approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager or
designee to appropriate the following funds:
$22,752.69 from General Fund City Manager's Professional/Contractual
Reserves to Services (1011.25.205.62015)
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
