CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,AUGUST 1, 1996
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 1,
2 1996, in the Municipal Building in said City. President Robert Goodwin presided with Robin Henry, Bruce
3 Metzger and Assistant City Attorney Steve Rabe in attendance. The following business was had to-wit:

7 The minutes of the July 25, 1996 meeting were not available.

9 CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT

11 Claims from the Controller's office were read by Henry who noted that they totaled $219,544.44 and moved to
12 approve,second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

16 A. Captain John Farmer of the Traffic Safety Division said he had reviewed a request for a
17 handicapped parking space made by Mary Rasner at 604 South 13th Street and found that she has a
18 garage but he considered it non-functional, therefore he recommended approval. Metzger so moved,
19 second by Henry and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

21 B. A curb cut request at 401 Porterfield was brought before the Board by Captain Farmer who said he
22 had checked it and recommended approval. Metzger so moved subject to the stipulations made by the
23 Engineering Department,second by Henry and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

25 C. A request by Rhonda Davis to close South P Street from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 10, for an
26 anniversary party, was brought before the Board by Captain Farmer who recommended approval and
27 added that Davis had also requested a noise abatement. Henry moved to approve both requests,
28 second by Metzger and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

30 D. Fire Chief Mike informed the Board that the official hiring date of Wesley Thomas Reeves,who they
31 had approved last week subject to acceptance by P.E.R.F.,was July 31, 1996.

37 There being no further business, on a motion duly made seconded and passed and carried on a unanimous
38 voice vote,the meeting was adjourned.
