CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 11, 1996
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 p.m.Thursday, April 11, 1996,
2 in the Municipal Building in said City. President Robert Goodwin presided with Robin Henry and Bruce Metzger
3 in attendance.The following business was had to-wit:

5 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 4.1996

7 The minutes of the April 4, 1996 meeting were approved on a motion by Henry, second by Metzger and carried
8 on a unanimous voice vote.

10 CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT

12 Claims for payment submitted by the City Controller's office were for$457,378.59 and an additional $28,125 for
13 engineering fees on the Industries Road project. Henry moved to approve the claims, second by Metzger and
14 the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

18 A. President Goodwin brought before the Board a petition for a curb cut at 2217 South L Street, noting
19 that it will be giving access to the garage of a new home. Police Chief Bill Shake said Captain John
20 Farmer had recommended approval by the Traffic Safety Division and President Goodwin noted that it
21 was approved by the other City departments with some conditions stated. Metzger moved to approve
22 the curb cut subject to those conditions required, second by Henry and the motion was carried on a
23 unanimous voice vote.

25 B. President Goodwin read a letter from Pam Fultz, marketing director for the east region of the Hoosier
26 State Games, requesting a news converence beginning at 1 p.m.Wednesday,April 17 to be held in the
27 Municipal Building near the bell on the main floor. She noted that this will be the official kick-off event
28 for the 1996 games. Henry moved to approve the request, second by Metzger and the motion was
29 carried on a unanimous voice vote.

33 A. Chief Shake asked the Board for approval of the renewal of the service agreement with The Office
34 Shop for the copier in the drug unit of the Richmond Police Department, noting that they have used the
35 same company for many years. The cost for the year is $378. City Attorney Bob Bever said he had
36 reviewed the contract and it is satisfactory from a legal standpoint. Metzger moved to approve, second
37 by Henry and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.
