February 18, 2021 Present : Co-chair Andrea Nevins and Sharon Tennstedt, Director Denise Rego, Lisa Donovan ( COA Programs Coordinator), Frank Callahan , Steve Holmes, Jay Greene , Cindy Bingham ( SB Liaison ) , Honey Pivirotto ( Fin Com Liaison ) , Penny Holman , Pat Ryle ( Coordinator Suicide Prevention Forum ) Absent : Marilyn Dearborn ( FORE President ) , Susan Broderick, Laura Usher Meeting called to order and Governors' Orders read by Sharon Tennstedt at 1 : OOpm Documents and exhibits ; Meeting Agenda , January 21, 2021 minutes, Directors Report, Action Plan Implementation FY21 , Cape Coast Programs Minutes for January meeting were accepted . DIRECTORS' . REPORT : 25 people were brought to the Cape Cod Melody Tent to get their COVID shots , COA is working on a Homebound List of people to receive their shots , There are 68 individuals at this time . Forms have to be filled out for these people and Don Lamb of the Reserve Corps has offered services , Cape Coast Councils on aging has offered their Virtual Programs for our Seniors to be used in conjunction with our programs . There will be a Curbside COVID Relief Food Drive at the COA on March 171h We are working on a program for Older American Month , Ex : Curbside Event or Senior Site Visit like a Pizza Party at Wells and Frederick Courts Orleans Senior Center may start limited Day Care in May Denise gave a presentation on the COA to the Brewster Men ' s Club COA Town Report Draft : ji Denise has solicited comments from the Board on the COA Town Report , Please give her your comments before the end of the month , i i Program Report : COVID Survival Kit and Care Givers Support Group Programs have been filmed Home Care Services will be filmed next week Life After Loss will be filmed in March { Instead of filming Medicare 65 , Debra and Brenda will send Post Cards to people turning 65 , asking for questions they might have . They will then be able to answer specific questions directly i 3 l r I i FY21 Action Implementation : Outline of Polypharmacy Program will be reviewed by Andrea and Lisa will film it Grant Opportunities : - Livable Cities Grant Application is due in April . Ideas are to be sent to Jay and Andrea Committee Reports : FOBE Thrift Shop is open Thursday through Saturday . Next month will offer longer hours Recreation Committee heard a presentation by Tom Lincoln for a Dog Park request from CPC for $ 300, 000 . This is for the construction of a Dog Park . He added that a group called Friends of Brewster Dog Park has allotted $ 50, 000 towards the Dog Park , The Board voted yes to the CPS funds for the Dog Park - Freeman ' s Way ballpark Americans Disability Act improvements Phase 1 parking was approved . Site work and prep will be done by the DPW and the finish work will be bid out . There was a question of striping the Senior Tennis Courts for Pickle Ball . Many residents are against it . Mike will research the funding for the Tennis Courts to see if there are stipulations for exclusive use . Vision Planning : - Need inputs on Building Blocks by March Suicide Prevention Forum : A presentation was given by Pat Ryle . A new National Suicide Hot Line, 988 will be installed by 2022 . Forum Meeting will be held April 29th No New Business No Old Business Next Meeting : March 18, 2021 Adjournment : Meeting adjourned by Sharon Tennstedt at 2 : 15 pm .
