NOVEMBER 22, 1995 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 2 22, 1995, in the Municipal Building in said City.Vice Chairperson Janet Hibner presided with Earnest Jarvis and 3 in attendance.The following business was had to-wit: 4 5 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 16.1995 6 7 Jarvis moved for the approval of the minutes of November 16, 1995, second by Hibner and the motion �•� , 8 carried on a unanimous voice vote. 9 10 CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT 11 12 Claims submitted by the City Controller's office totaled $481,231.41, also a single check to Air Management 13 Tech for the demolition of the Medical Arts Building and another for$86,580 to the King Wrecking Co. also for 14 the demolition and $20,000 to Benefit Systems for health insurance claims and $10,000 to Land Development 15 Services. Vice Chairperson Hibner moved to approve the claims, second by Jarvis and the motion was carried 16 on a unanimous voice vote. 17 18 REQUESTS 19 20 A.There were no handicapped parking space requests. 21 22 B. Vice Chairperson Hibner read a letter from Captain Mike Chambers of the Traffic Safety Division 23 stating that conflicting signage exists at the intersections of North West 16th and North West B Street 24 and Cartwright drive and North West B Street. One direction, he said, has a stop sign while the 25 opposite direction is a yield sign. His recommendation is to replace the Yield signs with Stop signs to 26 alleviate any confusion that might exist. Vice Chairperson Hibner moved to accept the 27 recommendation,second by Jarvis and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote. 28 29 C. Jarvis read a letter from Hugh and Diana Yount, 740 South West A Street, requesting the 30 replacement of the yellow curbing on South West 8th Street near Seton West Catholic School. Jarvis 31 explained the request had been turned over to Traffic Safety Division and a letter of recommendation 32 had been received from Captain Chambers. That recommendation is to increase the yellow curb 25 33 feet further south of the present end of the yellow curb on the west side of the street soutiicof 34 Main Street.Also,the installation of a No Parking Here To Corner sign at that location.A second similar 35 sign needs to be placed immediately across the street at that point on the east side of the street and 36 yellow painted back north to the present yellow. He also recommended the standard 20 feet of yellow 37 curb be painted at the alley and at the entrance to Holy Family.
