Ordinance No. 1004 was introduced by Councilman Huisman and seconded by Councilman Van Deest. Thereupon Mayor Eckhoff instructed the Town Attorney to read the Ordinance in full. After said reading there follow- ed a general discussion concerning the provisions of the Ordinance. Councilman Hippen then moved that the second and third readings of the Ordinance be waived. Seconded by Councilman Heinrich. Those voting aye: Huisman, Heinrich, Fairbanks, Hippen and Van Deest; Nay: None. Councilman Huisman then moved the adoption of the Ordinance, seconded by Councilman Van Deest. Those voting aye: Huisman, Heinrich, Fairbanks, Hippen and Van Deest; Nay: None. The Mayor thereupon declared the Ordinance adopted and directed the Clerk to publish the same according to law. The budget estimate as drawn up by the clerk for the period from January 1, 19'74, through June 30, 1975, was approved on a motion by Van Deest seconded by Heinrich. Those voting aye: Huisman, Hippen, Heinrich, Van Deest, Fairbanks; Nay: None. Carried. Huisman moved, Van Deest seconded the resolution directing posting and mailing of notice of filing plat and schedules. Roll call of votes --Aye: Hippen, Huisman, Heinrich, Fairbanks, Van Deest; Nay: None. Carried. Hippen moved, Fairbanks seconded that the following schedule for the proposed expenditure of the federal revenue sharing funds for the period from July 1, 1973, through June 30, 1974, be Recreational Fund--9�3,000; Library Fund--$1,000; Capital Improvements--$622. Carried. The application for a beer and liquor license by Donald Ross dba The Pub was approved on a motion by Van Deest, seconded by Huisman. Carried. Heinrich moved, Fairbanks seconded adjournment. Ca�ied. ,� � r~ � j yor Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in sp ial session on September 24, 1973, with Mayor Eckhoff presiding and all council members present. Purpose of the meeting was to adopt and certify the proposed budget for the period from January 1, 1974, through June 30, 1975. Van Deest moved and Hippen seconded adoption of the same. On a roll call of votes, those voting aye: Huisman, Heinrich, Hippen, Van Deest, Fairbanks Nay: None. Carried. There being no further business, the meeting stoo adjourned. May- Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in re lar session on October 1, 1973, with Mayor Eckhoff presiding and Councilmen Huisman, Hippen, Heinrich, and Fairbanks present. Carried. Moved by Hippen, seconded by Huisman to assess each property owner ��50.00 to compensate for damages resulting through making water and sewer connections. Carried. Moved by Fairbanks, seconded by Heinrich to employ Frank Hippen at a salary of $450.00 monthly. Carried. Fairbanks moved, Huisman seconded adjournment. Carried. % �� ��- ,, -'`��`" �� ��1"I v�� Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in spe al ession on October 15, 1973, with Mayor Eckhoff presiding and ouncilmen Huisman, Hippen, Heinrich and Van Deest present. Purpose of the meeting was a hearing for 1973 curb and gutter project assessments. Julius Zech appeared and objected to the assessment to property on 6�� Street, contending that the lot was inaccessible. Vernon Stahl requested that changes be made to improve drainage between his lot and that owned by Fritz Albers. A written objection from Fred and Anna Ruter expressed the feel- ing that the flow of water from the intersection adjacent to their property was inadequate to accommodate the water collecting at the corner of 6th and East Jackson. Leola E. Babcock, in behalf of Susie Paterni, submitted a written objection to the amount of the assessment and the manner in which assessment was determined on the Paterni property. This objection was forwarded to Engineer Ryken for report. ,��
