I ( I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO, ADOPTING SECTIONS 7-5-1 and 7-5-2 OF THE CITY CODE OF IONA, IDAHO; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2003 EDITION; PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE PROSECUTION UNDER PRIOR ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR THE SEVERABILITY OF THE SECTIONS AND SUBSECTIONS OF THE ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO, THAT: Section 1. Adoption of Sections 7-5-1 and 7-5-2, Iona City Code. Sections 7-5-1 and 7-5-2 of the City Code of Iona, Idaho, are enacted as follows: 7-5-1: UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE ADOPTED (A) Plumbing Code Adopted: The Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, published by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials is hereby adopted as an official code of the City except those portions that are deleted, modified, or amended by other provisions of this Chapter. (B) Code on File: One (1) copy of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, shall be retained by the City Clerk for use in and examination by the public. 7-5-2: AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE: (A) Chapter 1 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is hereby deleted. (B) Definition of "Plumbing System" in Section 218 of Chapter 2 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended as follows: Plumbing System - Includes all potable water building supply and distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and traps, all drainage and vent pipe(s), and all building drains and building sewers, including their respective joints and connection, devices, receptors, and appurtenances within the property lines of the premises and shall include potable water piping, potable water treating and using equipment and water heaters. (C) Section 313.7 of Chapter 3, and Section 402.6 of Chapter 4 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, are deleted. . • (D) Section 412.2.1 of Chapter 4 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to read as follows: Toilet rooms containing two (2) or more water closets or a combination of one (1) water closet and one (1) urinal, except in a dwelling unit. (E) Section 420.0 of Chapter 4 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add an additional sentence as follows: Exception: Pressure balance or thermostatic mixing valves are not required for high -flow (over 8 gpm) tub -filler valves with hand showers attached. (F) Section 421.0 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is hereby deleted. (G) Section 508.5 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add an additional sentence as follows: Exception: Water heater pans with minimum 1" drains may receive discharge from 3/4" relief drains. (H) Section 609.10 of Chapter 6 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add an additional sentence as follows: Exception: Requirements for pressure -absorbing devices shall not apply to residential construction. (I) Table 6-4 of Chapter 6 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended as follows: (J) The water supply Fixture Units (FU) for Bathtub, Combination Bath/Shower and Clothes Washer in Private Individual Dwellings shall be 2 FU. Table 7-3 of Chapter 7 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended as follows: The drainage Fixture Units (FU) for domestic Clothes Washers in Private Individual Dwellings shall be 2 FU. (K) Sections 703.2 And 710.5 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add the following exception: Exception. In single family dwellings, one (1) fixture unit may be allowed for each gallon per minute of flow from a pump or a sump ejector. (L) Table 7-5 of Chapter 7 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended as follows: 2 !• The Maximum Fixture Unit (FU) loading for 1-1/2 horizontal drainage piping shall be 2 FU. (M) Section 710.9 of Chapter 7 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add an additional sentence as follows: Exception: This Section shall not be required where the pump or receiving tank receives the discharge of no more than one toilet room. (N) Section 807.4 of Chapter 8 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to add an additional sentence as follows: Exception: A domestic dishwashing machine may be installed without the use of an airgap if the drain hose is looped to the bottom side of the countertop and secured properly. (0) Section 908.0 of Chapter 9 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to read as follows: (P) (Q) 908.0 - Vertical Wet Venting: Horizontal wet venting shall be allowed provided the wet -vented portion is created in the vertical position according to the requirements set forth in Sections 908.1, 908.2, and 908.3 for Vertical Wet Venting. Section 1002.3 of Chapter 10 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is amended to read as follows: Exception: For trap arms three (3) inches (80mm) in diameter and larger, the change of direction shall not exceed one hundred eighty (180) degrees (1.6 rad) without the use of a cleanout. Use of Chapter 11 of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 2003 Edition, is limited as follows: Roof drainage and subsoil drainage shall be required as specified in the Building Code, and installed in accordance with the methods and materials of UPC Chapter 11. Section 2. Severability. The sections and subsections of this Ordinance are severable. The invalidity of any section or subsection shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections or subsections. Section 3.
