HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 1521~' y CHAPTER 8 ARTICLE 6 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE ZONING REGULATIONS REGARDING GARAGES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield, as follows: That Chapter 8, Article 6 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield (Ordinance No. 674) is hereby amended as follows: Section 3; Paragraph 3 of Ordinance 674 is hereby repealed and replaced as follows: 3) Private garages for storage of up to four (4) vehicles, carports and storage sheds, as accessory uses to residential dwellings, located on premises shall be regulated as follows: A) Attached garages and carports: Garages physically connected to the primary residence shall be limited as follows: 1) Single Family Dwellings with living areas less than 3,000 sq. ft. shall be permitted attached garages and carports not to exceed 975 sq. ft. of floor area and not to be designed or used to store more than three 131 vehicles. 21 Single Family Dwellings with living areas greater than 3,000 sq. ft. shall be permitted attached garages and carports not to exceed 1,100 sq. ft. of floor area and not to be designed or used to store mare than four (4) vehicles. B) Detached garages shall not exceed 975 sq. ft. in floor area nor designed or used to store more than three 13) vehicles. 11 Single Family sites with both detached and attached garages shall not exceed a sum total garage area of 975 sq. ft., with storage for no more than three (3) vehicles in .all garage space. .. , :. ~ , CI Storage sheds shall not exceed 250 sq. ft. in area or 15 ft. in height. D) Multi-family dwellings may provide garage space for up to 3 vehicles per dwelling unit, This Ordinance shall be numbered as Ordinance No. 1521, and shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication as required by law.
