1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman LaPointe called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL AND DETERMINATION OF A QUORUM
Chairman LaPointe, constituting a quorum, at which time the following business was
conducted:
3. APPROVAL OF THE MAY 1St, 2017 MEETING MINUTES
Motion: Motion was made by Member Ricky Head, and seconded by Member
Jonathan Mercer to approve.
Motion carried by a vote of 3-0. Member David Baker abstained.
4. WORK SESSION ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
A. Discuss Preliminary Plan for Gibson and Gibson property at Popplewell
and Baker Blvd
Jason Moore, Assistant City Manager presented a preliminary plan for Gibson and
Gibson property at Popplewell and Baker Blvd.
B. Discuss City Council action that took place on their May 2"d Council
agenda

5. PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF A RECOMMENDATION OF A
SPECIFIC USE PERMIT
A. SUP 17 - 339 - 7235 Baker Blvd. - Consider making a
recommendation to the City Council to consider a Specific Use
Permit to permit operation of a cabinet shop business (Old World
Cabinets). The property, zoned Light Commercial (L-C), is located at
7235 Baker Blvd and the proposed use requires the issuance of an
SUP.

the issuance of an SUP.
Chairman LaPointe opened the Public Hearing. Time: 7:02 p.m.
Vickie Wreay, 7340 Bridges Ave., Richland Hills spoke against the SUP.
Chairman LaPointe closed the Public Hearing. Time: 7:07 p.m.
Motion: Motion was made by Member Ricky Head, and seconded by Member
Jonathan Mercer to deny.
Motion carried by a vote of 3-0. Member David Baker against.
6. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to section 551.071 of the Texas
Government Code (a/k/a the Texas Open Meetings Act), the commissioners
may meet in executive session at any time to receive advice from the City
Attorney on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the Commission
under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State
Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the provisions of the Texas Open
Meetings Act.
None at this time.
7. SET THE DATE AND TIME OF THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED
COMMISSION MEETING
The commission agreed to continue to hold commission meetings on the first Monday of
each month and to change the start time to 5:30 p.m. Due to the July 4t" holiday week,
the July 3`d meeting will be canceled and the next regular meeting will be held on
Monday, August 7t" at 5:30 p.m.
8. ADJOURN
There being no further business to come before the Commission, Chairman LaPointe
adjourned the meeting at 7:13 p.m.
