CALL TO ORDER Chairman LaPointe called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL AND DETERMINATION OF A QUORUM Chairman LaPointe, constituting a quorum, at which time the following business was conducted: 3. APPROVAL OF THE AUGUST 7t", 2017 MEETING MINUTES Motion: Made by Commission Member Ricky Head and seconded by Chairman Kyle LaPointe. Motion carried 5-0 4. WORK SESSION ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION A. Potential SUP applicant fora "Pet Care and Grooming, Indoor" use at 7273 Glenview Drive David Averitt who owns the building spoke on behalf of the prospective tenants and provided his willingness to comply with any adjustments needed for the building. The commission brought forth concerns regarding parking. B. General Update on TxDOT SH 121/IH 820 Improvements and potential zoning impacts Assistant City Manager, Jason Moore, provided an update on the project. TxDOT will be holding a public meeting on October 5, 2017 at the LINK. C. General Update on TxDOT traffic light addition to Handley Ederville between railroad tracks and Belton Street Jason Moore spoke to the commission and provided an update regarding the lights and placement of a new light going in. This new light will be located on Handley Ederville between the existing railroad tracks and Burns Street. The new traffic light will be maintained by TxDOT. D. General Update on Proposed Hike and Bike Trail alignment Staff provided an update on the status of the project. Design expected to start by August 2018 with construction is expected to start in 2019 and be complete by 2020. Staff presented the design layout that was submitted as part of the grant application. 5. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pursuant to section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code (a/k/a the Texas Open Meetings Act), the commissioners may meet in executive session at any time to receive advice from the City Attorney on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the Commission under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act. None at this time. 6. SET THE DATE AND TIME OF THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMISSION MEETING Monday October 2, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. 7.
