COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
ORDINANCE NO. 2-2022
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE,AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute
any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal
government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and
executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common
Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves
an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with
IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Health has grant funding available through its
Response to Public Healthcare Crisis Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond ("City") desires to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Health to receive grant funds to address COVID-19
related heath disparities and advance health equity by expanding the resources
and services offered; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will
submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Health for funds
available through its Response to Public Healthcare Crisis Program.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding from the
Indiana Department of Health in an amount up to One Million Twenty Four
Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,024,000.00).

3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to
address COVID-19 related health disparities and advance health equity by
expanding the resources and services offered.
