HomeMy Public PortalAbout006-2022 - Grant - Various Entities for Park Department • COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA ORDINANCE NO. 6-2022 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,ACCEPTANCE,AND APPROPRIATION OF GRANTS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond through its Parks Department administration ("Parks Department") is aware of numerous grant application opportunities available during the 2022 calendar year from various sources where the respective grant programs (a) do not require local fund matches out of the City's budget; or (b) only require matches that are labor"in kind"matches; and WHEREAS, The Parks Department wishes to apply for said grants in order to take advantage of each respective grant opportunity and meet any recurring deadlines in a timely manner. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that in accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-4-6-18, the Common Council approves the appropriation of any monies received during the 2022 calendar year from the following grant sources in the event the Parks Department applies for said funds in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 and where said grant programs (a) do not require any local fund matches out of the City's budget; or(b)only require matches that are labor"in-kind"matches: AARP American Water Environmental Ackerman Foundation Americorp Seniors ADA - Indiana's Coros Community Association for Butterflies Grant Program Austin Memorial Foundation Aetna Foundation Ball Brothers Foundation Aim High Baseball Tomorrow Fund American Academy of Dermatology Ben and Jerry Foundation Page 1 of 4 Better Bike Share Partnership(BBSP) Hearst Foundations Blue Buffalo Hometown Grant/General Historic Preservation Commission Mills Foundation Indiana Arts Commission Blumberg Philanthropies Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Borman Foundation Indiana Destination Development Corp.
