The Agenda Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of !yRM Ml=
Carteret preceding the Regular Meeting, December 29, 2015, was
held on December 3, 2015 6:00 P.M., Council Chambers, Ikcr 3, 20]5
Memorial Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New
Jersey.
The following were noted present:
Mayor Daniel J. Reiman
Councilmember Vincent Bellino
" Dennis DiMascio
" Randy Krum
Joseph W. Sitarz
Noted Absent were Councilmembers Jorge Diaz and Susan Naples.
Also noted present was Kathleen M. Barney, Municipal Clerk and
Robert J. Bergen, Law Director.
Please note that because of a malfunction of the tape these TYar— riber's Note
Minutes of December 3, 2015, were transcribed solely by the
Order of Business and notes taken at the meeting by the
Municipal Clerk.
On January 5, 2015, the 2015 Statement of Meeting Notice was St terent of Wetisg
mailed to the Home News Tribune and the Star Ledger and posted
on the Bulletin Board. Notice was published in The Home News
Tribune on January 7, 2015 and The Star Ledger on January 8,
2015.

Silent Prayer/ The meeting was opened with a Minute of Silent Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman.

present the Minutes of November 16, 2015 was approved,
transcribed and engrossed by the Clerk.

SUPPORTING THE DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER
2015 YEAR END HOLIDAY CRACKDOWN
Whereas, impaired driving remains a significant issue
in New Jersey and Nationally: and

Pmclaration Cont: Whereas, in 2013, alcohol impaired fatalities (based
on all drivers and motorcycle riders with a .08 BAC or
higher) accounted for 27% of New Jersey's traffic
fatalities; and
Whereas, an enforcement crackdown is planned to
combat impaired driving; and
Whereas, the State of New Jersey, Division of Highway
Traffic Safety, has asked law enforcement agencies
throughout the state to participate in the Drive Sober
or Get Pulled Over 2015 Year End Statewide Holiday
Crackdown; and
Whereas, the project will involve increased impaired
driving enforcement from December 11, 2015 through
January 1, 2016; and
Whereas, an increase in impaired driving enforcement
and a reduction in impaired driving will save lives on
our roadways;
Therefore, be it resolved that the Mayor and Council
of the Borough of Carteret declare its support for the
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 2015 Statewide Year
End Holiday Crackdown from December 11, 2015
through January 1, 2016 and pledges to increase
awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving.
